Ironsage - Day 1

Well, hello there! Allow me to make this a semi-formal introduction. From this day forward, within the realms of this blog, I will be going by the name of Aiti. It's just a rather random name I found... According to a website it is Finnish and means "Earth," although it just sounded quite pretty in my opinion.

I have played the Animal Crossing games since a very young age, and I've always felt a certain magic while spending time on them. This is my second town in New Leaf, and the one I'll be focusing on mainly on this blog. So, I welcome you to the town of Ironsage! :) I'll allow this town's story to fall into place as I go along.

On a clear Thursday evening, I was riding the train to the new town I would soon call my home. It's very exciting! I arrived at the train station and stepped off onto the platform. A kind Monkey conductor greeted me, with a welcoming smile upon his face.

Someone named... Blaire? She whispered knowlingly that I had arrived as I stepped out of the train station. Why was she expecting me...? I took note of the three others gathered around me, all of them with beaming smiles across their faces.

I wasn't prepared me for the huge welcome yelled at me, by people I had never even seen before. It was said with enough force to send me tumbling backwards, but I kept my balance. If anything, I would've expected to casually meet my soon-to-be neighbors when I'd actually moved in, but it seems they had a clear idea of who I was already. A dog with tied up hair approached me hastily.

"Mayor...?" I stuttered, unsure of what to think. "You must be mistaken, I'm in no way cut out to be a mayor of any town... this all sounds too complicated!" But they insisted I was joking around, and Isabelle took me to the Town Hall to make the necessary preparations of officially making me the mayor. I decided I'd stay quiet for the moment, and see how things would play out.

The young dog introduced herself as Isabelle, my secretary. She remarked that I was "much younger" and was a "breath of fresh air" compared to the Mayor before. I suppose if I've been given this opportunity... I can do the best I can to make this town better. The people around seem nice enough, and I can't let them down. Who knows, the mayor that was supposed to be arriving today might not be capable anymore... and then the town would end up in ruins.

Isabelle helped me prepare the paperwork necessary for me to become Mayor, and said I'd need to talk to Tom Nook to order a home to be built, so the address section could be filled out. I took a quick stroll through the town, finding my way to the shop area. "Nook's Homes, there it is," I said, as I gently opened the door to enter his shop.

I smiled, he seemed like a fairly nice fellow. A little bit cheap... but nice nonetheless. He helped me pick out a location for my new home in the town, and gave me a tent to use for the night so I'd at least have somewhere to crash. Seemed rather generous for a man like him, though I suppose he'd be taking it back later.

After Tom Nook helped me set up my new abode, Isabelle could now set up my TPC, so I could be identified as the Mayor of Ironsage. I can't help but think how fast this is all going by... Shouldn't I have brought some sort of identification documents with me... Ah well, they're a very trusting bunch.

Once all the preperations were complete, Isbelle requested my attendance and assitstance to help plant a new tree in the town, to represent the day I became Mayor and when new, exciting changes were set to happen within this humble town.

I felt very honoroed to be working for the kind townsfolk, and to have Isabelle at my side. Today, August 28th, I have become the mayor of Ironsage. I was filled with all sorts of emotions -- including a sense of responsibility to do this town well and to keep it thriving.

The townsfolk continued to clap until the excitement began to die down. Isabelle offered to give me advice whenever it was needed by coming to visit her in the town hall. I also stopped and had a chat with some of the townsfolk, with lots of congratulations and advice for my new life here in Ironsage.

Before heading back to my tent to relax for the remainder of the evening, I thought I'd explore some of the town. I found some amethyst ore... dug up a few fossils, and sold some of the town's apples to the nice alpacas at the Recycle Shop to earn a few bells to get me started. could be prepared for the new changes in store.

I decided to leave a little note on the message board, so anyone who was not yet aware of my arrival, which concluded my first day in town. Though it'd only been a short while since my arrival, I was tired out by all of the new things I had experienced and all the things I have yet to take on.

Thank you very much for reading, and I hope you will enjoy the town of Ironsage as much as I do. :) If you ever have any tips or tricks, comments or suggestions, please leave them as a comment. I'm also always here to offer Animal Crossing advice, from this game to the GameCube one!
