Good morning! :) It's a rainy day here in Ironsage... I can't help admit that I really, really love the rain, though! A new message was posted out on the notice board today: The Bug-Off is coming this Saturday! I've got some bug-catching skills to refine.
As I took my daily stroll onto main street, I noticed a new shop was going to be built, with the name 'Kicks!' I'm getting a little bit sick of my brown loafers and I've been wearing the same socks for... many days now, so I think it's time for some change! (and clean socks.)
I didn't want to get soaked, so I decided to plant a couple new trees, and then I planned to venture to the sunny island to practice some bug-catching! I planted a few oranges, which Isabelle gave to me, and a persimmon which I'd happily received in the mail from Rodney.
All more chores were complete for the day, and now it was onto the excitement: a relaxing trip to the island! I met Kapp'n, the sailor. He threw many compliments at me, and although some were strange, I still thanked him graciously. I'm sure it was just a bit of sea madness getting to him, after all these years...
He sang me a fun little tune on the way there. The lyrics were rather... unique, I should say, but he seemed happy enough. Rumor has it that his wife doesn't allow him to work on the island itself because she can't handle his singing. It wasn't so bad, but I suppose I can see how one can get annoyed by it after a while...
After the trip was over and Kapp'n finished his melody, I stepped out onto the island. Flowers were in bloom and the fruit trees were blossoming with fruit. The sweet smell was invigorating, and I enjoyed the change of pace here compared to back at Ironsage.
After I'd settled into this new atmosphere, I caught some bugs and fish. All of them were new species I'd never even heard of before! After I'd caught a good inventory full, I packed up my bags and sailed back to Ironsage, ready to relax at home with a cup of coffee after a hard day's work.
